 Post subject: Some DM maps

Hi i'm working on some DeathMatch maps, and my goal is to make the maps bigger than the previous one, so even if 32 players want to DM, they can go to map 32. I mean, map 1 is small, map 2 is a bit bigger than map 1 to be able to hold more players, etc. (they will also vary on style)

I'm done with the first map, which has the size of a small duel map:

Also, i need a name for this project, as it is unnamed right now. Any ideas?

Pretty nice map there Dancso. :)

you definetly have some mapping talent. I like a lot.

Theres only one thing, which is there is to many health bonus bottles and ammo packs around the place, get rid of a few of them and I think it would turn out pretty well.

Yeah, I also agree with the things Silicon Wolf said. Also, there are too many weapons lying around the map. You should really get rid of a few. :)

As an assistant project leader i tried the demomap.

What DoomMaster and Silicon said that too many weapons over there is true. You wanted to make every player who starts randomly to get the ssg instant. In so much little space you dont need 18 (!) start places. This map is for 4 players, if more connects then the game tends to more luck then skill. So you need max 8 starts and this will be the solution of cleaning out the unnecessary SSGs. Armor bonus and health bonus can affect a game a bit, so its good but dont place it too densely. Also backpacks are useless, nobody will back up 100 rockets instead of 50. Your life will be shorter here =-D I tried it with bots too: with 3 bots its intense fun. However the switch is good for everyone except the switchpuller. All of the bots use mostly SSG, then minigun, rarely the rail and the grl. Stimpacks in the center area only picked up by accidentally, most of the action take place on the corridors around the center area so you cant reach that area with damage. Turbo is greatly placed! Anyway turbosphere is always a good fun (except tight corridored mazes).The small niches in walls are good idea: you must turn backward or step back to get the goodies inside. In opengl the sector light effects are not visible.

Of course thats just my opinion, keep up the good work Dancso!
